Abstract

Drug information services are crucial in enhancing pharmaceutical care by introducing the pharmacist profession to the community and ensuring optimal therapy outcomes. These services are essential for patients using self-medication, prescription drugs, and over-the-counter medications, aiming to prevent medication errors and improve patient safety. This study evaluates the quality of drug information services provided by pharmacists to outpatients at Ganti Community Health Center, Central Lombok, and assesses compliance with Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 74/2016. Employing a quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach, data were collected from 51 outpatients using a structured questionnaire. Results show that information on medication timing and frequency was consistently provided (100%), followed by instructions on administration (94.1%), duration of use (92.2%), dosage (90.2%), side effects (86.3%), and storage (82.4%). Notably, no information was given on drug disposal (0%). These findings indicate that while drug information services generally meet regulatory standards, certain aspects—particularly disposal instructions—require significant improvement. The study highlights the importance of strengthening pharmaceutical communication to optimize therapy outcomes and reduce risks of misuse.
