The INFORMEDICA: Journal of Applied Informatics in Medical and Health publishes original research, systematic reviews, case studies, and scholarly articles that address a wide range of topics central to the fields of health information and medical records. Our scope encompasses, but is not limited to, the following key areas:

  • Electronic Health Records (EHRs): Design, implementation, and evaluation of EHR systems, including issues of interoperability, usability, and clinical workflow integration.
  • Medical Records Management: Best practices in the administration, integrity, and security of patient records in both digital and traditional formats.
  • Clinical Coding and Classification: Research on the accuracy, reliability, and application of health data terminologies and classification systems (e.g., ICD, SNOMED CT) for research, quality improvement, and reimbursement.
  • Health Data Science/ Machine Learning: Application of data science, big data, and artificial intelligence to health information for clinical decision support, population health management, and public health surveillance.
  • Health Information Systems (HIS): Development, adoption, and impact of various HIS, including hospital information systems, laboratory information systems, and telemedicine platforms.
  • Health Informatics Education: Curricular development and pedagogical innovations in training health information and medical records professionals.
  • Data Governance and Privacy: Ethical, legal, and regulatory aspects of managing patient data, including compliance with international standards such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Statistics in Health Care: Applying statistical techniques to summarize, interpret, and find patterns in the collected data. Hospital indicator and perfomance analysis such as BOR, LOS etc.
