Author Guidelines

  1. Preparing and Sending in Your Manuscript
  • The manuscript that was sent in must be an original work in the health sciences field and fit within the journal's scope. It is best to write manuscripts in English or Indonesian. If the author writes in Indonesian, they must include the title, abstract, and keywords in both languages.
  • The manuscript file should be in Microsoft Word format (.docx) and have 1.5 line spacing, Times New Roman font, size 12, and 2.5 cm margins on all sides.
  • Submissions go through a double-blind peer review process. So, the names, affiliations, and thanks of the authors must be taken out of the main text and put in the submission metadata instead.
  1. Different Kinds of Articles
  • Original research articles must include the following: title, abstract, keywords, introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion and recommendations, acknowledgments, and references.
  • Review articles should have a title, an abstract, keywords, an introduction, a body of review, a conclusion, and a list of references.
  1. Title

The title should be short (5–15 words), clear, and true to the content of the manuscript. Don't use abbreviations, formulas, or jargon. You need to give titles in both English and Indonesian.

  1. Keywords and Abstract
  • The abstract must be written in both English and Indonesian and be between 150 and 250 words long.
  • It should give a brief overview of the background, goal, methods, results, and conclusions without using any references or short forms.
  • List 3–6 keywords with semicolons between them.
  1. Beginning

The introduction should be 15–20% of the length of the manuscript and should include:

Background and importance of the research.A theoretical framework and a short review of the literature. 

  1. Statement of the research gap and novelty.Research goals.

How to Do It The Methods section (15–20% of the length of the manuscript) should explain:

How the research was set up.Where the data came from and how it was collected.How the data was analyzed and whether or not it got ethical approval.

  1. Results and Discussion
  • The results and discussion should make up 60–70% of the article. Use tables, figures, or graphs to clearly show data (with correct titles and sources).
  • Don't write too many numbers over and over in the text.
  • Discussion must analyze findings, juxtapose them with prior research, elucidate theoretical or practical ramifications, and underscore the contribution to extant knowledge
  1. Conclusion and Suggestions

Give short answers to the questions in the research.  Recommendations must derive from findings and delineate their implications for policy, practice, or additional research. Not as a numbered list, but as an essay.

Give credit to the people and organizations that helped you, but don't include them as authors.If you got a grant, include the grant numbers.

  1. References

The APA Style (7th edition) should be used for references. At least  80% of sources must be from journal articles or research reports  published in the last 10 years.Authors are strongly urged to use articles from this journal as sources. Make sure that all of the references you cite are also in the reference list.

  1. Legal and Ethical Issues

Authors must make sure that their submission is original and has not been published or is being considered for publication in another journal.

Check for similarity with Turnitin, which can show a maximum similarity index of 20%. Authors must tell about any conflict of interest.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet these requirements:

  1.  The submission has not been published before, and no other journal is looking at it (or an explanation has been given in the Comments to the Editor).
  2.  The file you send must be in RTF, Microsoft Word, or OpenOffice format.
  3.  If possible, URLs for the references have been given.
  4.  The text of the manuscript is single-spaced and in a 12-point font. It uses italics instead of underlining (except for URL addresses). All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed in the text where they belong, not at the end.
  5.  The manuscript meets the Author Guidelines' requirements for style and bibliography.
  6.  There must be a Turnitin similarity report with a maximum similarity index of 20%.
