Efektivitas Model Problem Based Learning dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis dan Motivasi Belajar Siswa

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs Nurul Haq. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen berbentuk Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian adalah dua kelas: VIII A (kontrol) dan VIII B (eksperimen), masing-masing 28 siswa. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan angket untuk mengukur motivasi belajar.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai pretest dan posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 47,58 dan 50,00, sedangkan kelas eksperimen 46,73 dan 83,04. Uji t menghasilkan p < 0,05, menandakan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas. Analisis N-gain menunjukkan kategori sedang untuk kontrol (0,44) dan eksperimen (0,54). Penerapan PBL terbukti efektif meningkatkan komunikasi matematis (representasi, penyusunan model, penyajian ide) dan motivasi belajar siswa (partisipasi aktif, ketekunan, dan kepercayaan diri).
