Keywords:
Sasak Culture, Ethnomathematics, Mathematical UnderstandingAbstract
This study aims to examine how Sasak local wisdom values can be integrated into mathematics learning to improve students' mathematical understanding. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The data consisted of articles retrieved using the Publish or Perish (POP) application through Google Scholar with the keyword "Ethnomathematics." The selected articles were published in SINTA-accredited journals between 2015 and 2022. The findings lead to the following conclusions: (1) ethnomathematics is a learning approach that integrates culture and mathematics; (2) the Sasak people possess a variety of distinctive cultural elements that can be used as media or learning materials in mathematics, including traditional buildings, traditional arts, traditional foods, handicrafts, and household tools; and (3) mathematical understanding is a fundamental competency in mathematics learning that includes the ability to comprehend material, recall mathematical formulas and concepts and apply them to simple or similar cases, assess the validity of a statement, and apply formulas and theorems in problem solving.
